Chalet Arroyomolinos, Madrid
Mix of cultures in a single-family home in Arroyomolinos, Madrid
The interior designer Alberto Torres, from the 'Alberto Torres Interior Design Studio' of the PortobelloStreet.es group, signs the comprehensive renovation project for this single-family home in Madrid that has 255m2 distributed over three floors. The priority for its owner, a woman with a teenage daughter, was to achieve a total makeover by creating new spaces for rest, teleworking and meetings with family and friends, all adapted to her current needs after a change in her personal life.
The home was decorated in a very early 2000s style, when the colonial trend and very dark colors were the general tone. Coinciding with a change in the owner's life, Alberto Torres has been in charge of giving a new aesthetic to the home, adapting it to new needs and decorative trends. Some pieces have been kept in dark colors that the owner wanted to preserve but, by combining them with metal, glass and porcelain, a good balance of textures and volumes has been achieved.
Well-differentiated spaces with an eclectic general style
The renovation has focused on the creation of spaces with very specific uses and in very defined and different styles, resulting in the mixture of several very disparate aesthetic influences, but in a very well resolved combination. On the one hand, Italian design in a minimalist expression of very pure lines that is reflected in the office and the bedroom, although in the latter case sweetened with textures and textiles. On the other hand, a Zen style with oriental reminiscences in the night area distributor. And finally, the Mediterranean and coastal style featuring whites and blues in the rest of the home.
