Apartment Julián Besteiro, Madrid
Warmth is drawn with light
In this apartment by Julián Besteiro, wood and gray tones articulate a continuous composition between living room, dining room and kitchen. The space combines large, serene surfaces with light metal structures, so that the furniture adds character without interrupting the reading of the whole.
The living area is organized around an angled sofa and dark framed wooden coffee tables. Along the wall, an open shelving system alternates shelves of different lengths on a gray background. Its top and bottom lighting underlines the rhythm of the mullions and frames books and objects. The dining room maintains that combination of wood and gray upholstery, while the kitchen presents a continuous wood-finished front, with integrated appliances and a light countertop island. The glass lamps and blue details introduce lightness and small pockets of color.
The bedroom incorporates a geometric relief wall behind the headboard, enhanced by indirect lighting and vertical luminaires. Neutral textiles and golden accents soften the composition. In the bathrooms, white, mirrors and suspended furniture reinforce a clean image, while the small office recovers wood in a table with simple lines. The integrated light works as a uniting element: it highlights textures, accompanies the planes and provides depth to the interior.
